Both Solo-M and Solo-P feature a core of perforated no-added urea formaldehyde (NAUF) medium density fiberboard (MDF) with a natural wood veneer on the face and an acoustically transparent black mat on the back. Although the open area of Solo is approximately 6%, the unique v-grooves create a dual-sided "funnel" effect that allows sound to be absorbed at various angles, effectively distributing sound energy over a larger surface area. Furthermore, you can adjust absorption characteristics by altering the substrate thickness. From a distance, the perforations in Solo panels and planks virtually vanish, creating the illusion of a seamless wood ceiling or wall installation. All Solo products are meticulously manufactured for a precise fit and are delivered fully finished and ready for installation. Moreover, Solo products can be fabricated in accordance with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) standards and certified by NEPCon, carrying the marks of the Rainforest Alliance® to emphasize the commitment to responsible supply chains. Solo-M panels are acoustical wood panels with a composite wood core finished in a natural wood veneer. They can be fully grooved or stop-grooved to create an integral border or frame, providing design flexibility. Solo-P planks, on the other hand, consist of a composite wood core finished in a natural wood veneer and employ tongue and groove construction to achieve a monolithic appearance while allowing for easy trim accessory installation. For a contemporary twist, Solo Dark Core features an acoustical wood plank product with a natural wood veneer finish and a dark core, minimizing the visual impact of the perforations when viewed from a distance and delivering a modern aesthetic. To cater to various design preferences, all Solo products offer different grooving options, including Type-8 (5/16" space between grooves), Type-16 (5/8" space between grooves), and Type-32 (1-1/4" space between grooves), allowing for creative and functional customization in both ceiling and wall applications.
